Firmware Version 2.01*

*Please note that this is not host-interface backwards compatible with firmware versions 1.xx, i.e., it is based upon a packet paradigm, not command-line interface.

WHAT'S NEW

  • New to 2.01: Fixed use of . and .. and \ for directory name.
  • New host interface protocol and schema (works with royalty-free host source code).
  • Higher write & read speeds.
  • SDHC compatibility (up to 32GB per standard).
  • DIR pin is no longer needed (nor functional).
  • UART 2-pin interface (4-pin is optional).
  • SPI 4-pin standard interface (no handshake signals required!).
  • New functions.

KNOWN ISSUES (see RELEASE.TXT in API package for detail & user notes)

  • Changing to a different card between certain commands does not return an error. To prevent this issue, the host should monitor the CARD_CD# pin to detect a card removal.
  • Packet transfer duration close to 2.0s causes the clock to lose a second; a longer duration may cause additional seconds of loss.
